Ben Stiller: I`m petrified of ageing
Ben Stiller thinks turning 50 will be "scary."
The 44-year-old actor stars in new movie Greenberg, about a middle-aged man who must face the fact his life has been disappointing. Ben stars as the title character Roger Greenberg, opposite actress Greta Gerwig who plays Florence Marr.
Despite being considered one of America`s greatest comic actors following movies such as There`s Something about Mary and Zoolander, Ben suffers from the same worries as Roger. He he can relate to his character?s situation and says that since turning 40 he has started fearing his next big birthday.
"I think you know Greenberg is smart enough to know that at 40, whatever, he is not where he wanted to be. And in ten years` time he is going to be 50. That`s scary," he confessed in an interview with Australian newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald.
Like his character, Ben worries he won`t be able to achieve all of his dreams in one lifetime.
"I think something happens around 40 when you realise that your life is not all ahead of you, it`s a very real thing that happens at that age.
"At 30 it`s still possible to think you have got your 30s and you`re going to make stuff happen," said the actor.
